Eng. Youssef has Petroleum Engineering degree from Cairo Engineering University in 1984. He has started his career as Drilling Engineer and Drilling Supervisor for GUPCO and then Petrobel until the mid-nineties. He later joined Schlumberger Drilling and Measurement, where he went up through the ranks up to a Drilling Engineering Manager, supporting multiple locations in the Middle and Far East, and working with several operating companies.

From 2018 to 2020 and immediately after BP, he provided drilling management and technical support to ENI/Baker and Shell/RPC companies to drill (for the first time) two deepwater HPHT wells in the Mediterranean Sea.

From 2021 he started working as Drilling Engineering Instructor and Trainer for Petroleum Engineering department in the American University in Cairo and also training and developing competency assessment of well engineers and drilling supervisors in the oil and gas companies in Egypt and Middle East.
